Early Life and Political Career
George Walker Bush was born on July 6, 1946, in New Haven, Connecticut. He is the eldest son of George H.W. Bush, the 41st president of the United States. Bush attended Yale University and Harvard Business School before entering politics. He served as the 46th governor of Texas from 1995 to 2000.
Presidency
In 2000, Bush was elected president of the United States. He took office on January 20, 2001. Bush's presidency was marked by the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. In response to the attacks, Bush launched the War on Terror, which included the invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq.
